Use these standards whenever you represent Esther’s Light or care for students within an EFF chapter.

Do

  • Welcome students without pressure or judgment.
  • Prepare events with a clear purpose and practical next step.
  • Listen with empathy and thank students for trusting you.
  • Protect privacy, while explaining you may need to involve help for safety.
  • Connect students to EFF, campus, medical, or emergency support when needed.
  • Ask for help from an advisor or EFF leadership when you are unsure.

Don’t

  • Diagnose mental-health conditions or act as a counselor.
  • Promise secrecy when safety may be at risk.
  • Pressure students to share, pray aloud, fast, donate, or participate.
  • Promise healing, money, grades, or outcomes in exchange for faith.
  • Handle an emergency alone or delay calling appropriate support.
  • Use ministry events as substitutes for academic, medical, or crisis care.
